I have a non platform specific question:

Will the clients work with my existing network?

Yes. There is no special network needed to integrate the voting platform. You can run it over a cable connection or wireless network or even over your provider's 3G network.

What music files are supported?

Only MP3 and AAC files/codecs are supported when selecting files or importing from the iTunes library. No other codecs or file types are supported at the moment.

I get the message "this service is not available in your country"?

The MavenVoter Platform is only available in a few countries, at least for now. Supported regions are Luxembourg, Germany, France and Belgium.

Is this service free?

The voting itself and usage of this platform as a voter is free. Please contact us at bepart@maven.pub to get more information about offering this service.

What requirements are needed to run the votings?

Your client needs a working internet connection. You can run the voting locally in your public WiFi with internet access or your customers/guests can use it over their phone providers internet access.

What mobile devices are supported for doing votings?

Basically every mobile device should work but the best results can be achieved with Apple's IOS, Windows Mobile/8 and Google's Android operating systems.

How can I show the results to the public?

The client contains a tool named "Screener". You can run this tool through the native UI or, for remote access, in case your machine is not connected to a television or computer screen, access it through an URL. The remote address is shown when opening the native Screener.

Can I use the client on more than one computer?

Yes, you can install the client on several machines with the same license key, but you can only use one at a time.

Why are not all my Spotify playlist tracks imported?

Spotify tracks are often blocked when you try to play them in a country where the track is not available on the market. Some tracks work, others don't, therefore these tracks are excluded during import.

I am using Mac OSX as a hosting platform:

What versions are supported?

The client is tested on macOS Monterey (12.6) but should run on every macOS version supporting 64-bit after 10.12. 32-Bit systems are no longer supported.

Import playlist from iTunes is greyed out?

By default, iTunes 12.2 and later doesn't create an iTunes Library.xml. You need to activate this option manually inside iTunes in order to activate the button.

Open iTunes → Preferences → Advanced → Share iTunes Library XML with other applications.

After the restart the button should be active.

Import playlist from Spotify is greyed out?

In order to use Spotify you need to have their player installed on the system. Register yourself at www.spotify.com and install it. Due to Spotify playing commercials between tracks you need to create a premium account to get rid of them and use MavenVoter correctly.

After a restart the button should be available.

I am using Microsoft Windows as a hosting platform:

What versions are supported?

The clients are tested on Windows 10. Prior versions are not supported anymore.

I get an error that says that the audio file could not be played?

This can happen if your machine does not have the needed codecs installed. The client uses the Microsoft DirectShow API to play music files and often this API is missing some codecs. Please follow the instructions on screen or download a compatible DS codec pack, such as LAVFilters or K-Lite Codec Pack.
